VILLAGE SCHOOLS PROJECT

We will not hide them from their children, but tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord and his might, and the wonders that he has done (Psalm 78:4)

Serving village schools in Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire

The Village Schools Project is a partnership between Village Hope and ICE Wales Trust.

The aims of the Project are to develop new opportunities to promote, facilitate and deliver Christian education in rural schools in S E Wales, particularly by working with churches to equip and enable them to play an active role in the life of their local schools and in the provision of Christian religious education.

The Project provides free assistance and practical support to Christians and churches wishing to work in local primary schools, in village settings across Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. We offer a varied programme of interactive assemblies, lessons, clubs or project events to schools looking to develop and enhance their religious education offering and community links.

The Village Schools Project has four aims.

  1. To enrich village school pupils’ learning in RE, spirituality and Christian education.
  2. To encourage, resource and assist churches in reaching out to children outside of their Sunday worship context.
  3. To build positive community relationships between schools and local churches.
  4. To bring together volunteer workers in schools into a supportive community network.
